The agreement for using Matchup League, with fair play, player control and clear expectations at its center.
Effective October 19, 2026 · Version 2026-10-19.3
1. This agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Matchup League website, app and associated league features, operated under the Matchup League name (“Matchup League,” “we” or “us”). The Community Guidelines are part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains our information practices; accepting these terms is not blanket consent to optional device permissions or unrelated data uses.
When you affirmatively accept these terms during signup or a later acceptance screen, you agree to them to the extent you can legally do so. If you do not agree, do not create an account or contribute content. You can read public policies and contact us without a player account. Nothing here removes a right you have under applicable law.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 to create a player account. Players aged 13–17 must have a parent or guardian’s permission and review these terms with them. Signup calculates age from the birthday you enter and records the permission you declare; it is not identity verification or verified parental consent. A parent or guardian can raise a concern through Privacy requests. Additional eligibility restrictions may be needed where applicable law requires them.
Provide accurate information, including your birthday, and keep your profile up to date. New accounts require a birthday, email address, US phone number and password, followed by a name, city, state or territory, sport and role. ZIP code, preferred cage, playing level, throwing and batting hand, fastball velocity, photo and bio are optional. Profiles start with initials when no photo is added. Your age updates from your saved birthday; contact support if that birthday needs correcting. Do not impersonate another person, use another person’s contact information without permission, transfer an account to evade a restriction, or create accounts to manipulate ratings. Keep your password private. Sign in with your account email or US phone number and password. The recovery page shows the methods currently configured: email links or text codes for a previously verified phone. Delivery can fail; a configured method does not guarantee receipt. Tell Help & support about suspected account compromise. You are responsible for your own authorized use; these terms do not automatically make you liable for every unauthorized act.
You can change available account and privacy settings or delete your account. See Account deletion and the Privacy Policy for what deletion does, retained records and device copies. A privacy or safety report is a separate case; deleting an account does not necessarily delete that case.
3. Sessions, scores and ratings
Matchup League provides software for finding players, arranging sessions, recording at-bats and calculating ratings. Unless a particular event explicitly says otherwise, we do not host, supervise or provide facilities, coaching, medical care, transportation or insurance for your session. An invitation or cage-search suggestion is not a reservation, endorsement, inspection or permission to use a field or cage. Feature availability is shown in the app; a description here does not enable a currently unavailable feature.
Players and supervising adults must agree on the venue, time, equipment, rules and appropriate level of competition. Follow facility rules and the Player Safety Guide. Do not arrange or continue a session if the conditions, other person’s conduct or your health make you uncomfortable or unsafe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services rather than waiting for an app response.
Record scores honestly and review the scorecard before confirming it. Use the score dispute and support tools when there is a genuine mistake. Do not fabricate at-bats, collude, pressure someone to approve false results or use repeated sessions to manipulate rankings.
Ratings, expected outcomes, recommendations, badges and leaderboards are experimental estimates based on available information and may change as results or formulas change. They do not verify identity, age, health, skill, eligibility or character; guarantee a suitable opponent; or constitute recruiting, scholarship or professional advice. Badges and points have no cash value and do not promise a prize.
4. Your content and permission to operate the service
You retain ownership of the photos, writing and other content you create. Upload only content you own or are authorized to use, and obtain any permissions needed from people pictured or identified. Do not publish someone else’s private contact details or use their image in a misleading or harmful way.
By submitting content, you give Matchup League a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, format and display it as reasonably necessary to provide the feature you chose, honor your visibility settings, deliver it through our service providers, protect the service and respond to reports. This permission does not transfer ownership, permit unrelated advertising use of your likeness or authorize sale of your content.
The permission ends when the relevant content is deleted from our systems, except for copies or records lawfully retained for limited operational, safety or legal purposes as described in the Privacy Policy. Content already received or independently copied by others may remain outside our control. We will seek separate permission for a use outside this limited scope when required.
Our branding, interface and code remain subject to their owners’ intellectual-property rights and applicable third-party licenses. These terms allow ordinary authorized use of the service; they do not grant ownership of our name or logo. Use Copyright concerns to report suspected infringement.
5. Conduct and technical access
Follow the Community Guidelines. In particular, do not use Matchup League for harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, child sexual abuse or exploitation, nonconsensual intimate images, doxxing, scams, unlawful discrimination, illegal transactions or other unlawful activity. Do not use the service to arrange sexual or exploitative contact with a minor.
Do not access accounts or information without authorization; disrupt, overload or evade security controls; scrape personal profiles in bulk; distribute malware; or circumvent blocks, privacy settings or moderation restrictions. Do not perform security testing against real users or access their data without authorization. Report a suspected vulnerability through the safety-report form without including secrets or other people’s personal data.
We do not permit advertising, spam, paid endorsements presented as ordinary player advice, or soliciting payment through deceptive messages. New commercial features, if introduced, will have their applicable pricing and terms presented before purchase.
6. Reports, restrictions and appeals
You can report a player in the app, block unwanted contact, or use the public safety-report form without logging in. Do not use reports to retaliate or deliberately submit false claims. Good-faith reports are welcome even if you cannot establish every fact.
We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a suspected rule violation, security problem, legal obligation or safety risk. A response can include a warning, content removal, a temporary restriction or account suspension. We consider available evidence, the nature of the concern and relevant history. Automated signals and unusual rating patterns alone do not prove wrongdoing.
Where appropriate, we will explain the action through an available account or case channel. We may limit detail when disclosure would expose another person, compromise safety or an investigation, or violate law. To request review, use Help & support or a public safety report, identify the action and explain why it should be reconsidered. No password or verification code is needed in a report. We cannot promise continuous monitoring or immediate resolution of every report.
7. Service availability and limits
The current service is a beta. Features may have bugs or interruptions, cached data may be out of date, notifications can fail, and unsynced scoring drafts may be lost if a device or its storage is cleared. Keep an independent record of important session details. We may maintain, modify or discontinue features, with notice when required by law or appropriate for a material change.
To the extent applicable law permits, the service is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted operation, error-free scores, a particular sporting result or that another user or venue is safe. You make your own decisions about whether and how to participate.
To the extent applicable law permits, Matchup League is not responsible for losses caused solely by another user’s independent conduct or a third-party facility outside our control. This is not a release of liability for our own conduct where law imposes responsibility. We do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and these terms do not require a minor or parent to waive a child’s injury claim. Participation risk information is not a substitute for reasonable care, supervision or insurance.
8. Changes, questions and disputes
We will post revised terms here with the version and effective date. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention through an appropriate service notice; renewed acceptance will be requested when required. Changes do not retroactively remove existing legal rights. If you stop using the service, provisions that reasonably need to continue, such as limited retained-content permissions and existing claims, continue only to the extent applicable.
Contact Help & support about account or service issues, Privacy requests about personal information, and Safety reports about harm or prohibited content. We encourage you to contact us to try to resolve a problem. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator, emergency service or court, or exercising legal rights.
If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to the extent allowed by law. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, a waiver of nonwaivable consumer rights or a requirement that a minor indemnify Matchup League.
9. Optional Premium membership
Premium tools require active access granted through a verified subscription or an authorized complimentary membership. When paid subscriptions become available, the checkout shows the price, currency, billing period and applicable tax before purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Use Premium → Membership → Manage subscription to change or cancel billing. Cancellation stops future renewal; access normally continues through the paid access period unless a refund, payment failure, suspension or other applicable reason ends access earlier. Contact Help & support for billing errors or refund requests; nothing here limits rights that apply to you.
Video storage and clip limits appear in the library. Export depends on your browser and device; keep the app open during processing and retain your original recordings. Premium reports describe recorded practice outcomes and are not official game statistics, verified recruiting evaluations or promises of improvement. Do not upload or share footage without the necessary rights and permission. Paid membership does not change ratings, moderation standards, or Community privacy rules.
